Acetone is a heavy-duty de-greaser, it is useful in the preparation of metal prior to painting or application of adhesives.
Acetone is often the primary (or only) component in nail varnish remover.
Acetone is also used as a super glue remover and for thinning and cleaning fiberglass resins and epoxies. Dissolving two-part epoxies and super glue before hardening.
